Great set up for the mission! Achtung! Cthulhu has been on my radar for a couple of years now. I am very interested to see how the 2d20 system runs solo.
So far, I have really enjoyed it! I think if I play this more long term, I might make a few adjustments to take a little of the crunch out. But so far, it's been very fun! I think the fact that the characters are built around a "pulpy action hero", they are a little less fragile, so the single character aspect makes it a little easier.
Great read! I've been interesting the 2d20 system for a while, so I'm grateful for the mechanics breakdown. I'm even more interested in the system now! Greast entry!
Glad you enjoyed it! the 2d20 rules themselves aren’t that complicated. I think the complexity (for me at least) is remembering to change the chances for critical rolls based on focus skill points. I like the Momentum gains you get from multiple successes that you can apply to later tests when you really need something to work!
Just the level of quality I anticipated. Great start. I feel like I can envision the scenes clearly, and I love the single fleeting glance at the potential supernatural goings-on. It really set the tension.
We're off to an intriguing start, and thank you for explaining the mechanics as you go. That's really helpful. I'm familiar with 2d20 from Fallout; I assume it's essentially the same.
Are you playing an actual scenario here, or generating the adventure as you go? I know Mythic Magazine has options for playing published adventures. I wondered if you were using either or perhaps something else?
Can't wait for further instalments. I have several Achtung Cthulhu games sitting on my shelf, bought from a Modiphius sale ages ago!
Thanks! I used the tables and charts section from the Vive La Resistance module to roll up a mission goal for Sabotage, which was “Disable armored vehicles near” and then I rolled on the Location table for “A supply depot”. I looked up some facts about Germany supplying Nationalist Spain with planes and armor, and used that as my story line.
I also rolled on the Complication and Climactic Encounter tables, but I am not sure if I will incorporate that into the story or not. I’m happy so far where Mythic and the dice rolls have taken me. After this “mission” is complete, if Diego lives, I plan on trying some of the premade modules.
I was a little apprehensive about giving it a try solo since it is sooo crunchy. I've recorded 2 more sessions so far, and have had a lot of fun with it.

I appreciate it! We’ll get to see more spookiness along with WW2 action in the next episode!
Ah yes. I've been waiting for this!

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. Looking forward to seeing what happens!
Soon. Soon we'll be punching facists in the throat. Yessss.
punches in the throat and more!
Looking forward to more. How did you come up with the woman, was she part of a module?
She is in the GM guide, yeah.
Nice write up! Subscribed.
Thanks!
Interesting start! One of those games I have always been interested in - so reading your playthrough will be a treat.
